The Bombers finished Saturday's pool play with a 2-0 record grabbing the #2 seed going into the single elimination bracket play. With the weather forecast for rain on Sunday, the Triple Crown organization moved the first bracket game to Saturday night which the Bombers won 6-3 over the Tallahassee Heat 11U club.
On Sunday morning the Bombers won their semifinal game over the Top Gun Baseball 8-7 and advanced to the championship game that afternoon. In the championship game, the Bombers had a chance to tie the game with a runner on 3rd in the top of the 6th inning but could get him across the plate. They, unfortunately, lost 5-4 to the Rally Caps Baseball Club. Overall, the 11U JCT Bombers went 4-1 at the tourney and almost won a close championship battle. Great Job Bombers!
On April 17th the JCB Blue Jays were playing a Majors Division baseball game at Mandarin Sports Association’s (MSA) Alberts Field against the MSA Yankees. During the 4th inning warmups, JCB Blue Jays player #7 Tommy Jordan was on deck ready to lead off the inning when he noticed the MSA Yankees pitcher did not have a catcher or MSA coach ready to warm up his arm. Tommy volunteered to get a catcher’s mitt from the dugout and help the young pitcher prepare for the inning. After taking several pitches Tommy turned over the position to the MSA Yankee catcher and returned to the batter’s box ready to hit. The MSA and JCB coaches and attending parents were very appreciative of his effort. The JCB Board would like to recognize Tommy Jordan for embodying the JCB value of sportsmanship. Great Job TJ!!
The JCB 8U Thunder won the Oakleaf Easter Egg Smash on March 31st. The Thunder outscored opponents 44-16 thru pool and bracket play. During the Championship the Thunder rallied from behind to win 10-8 vs the Villages Bombers.
