Recently JCB Board members recognized that the league had an abundance of All-Star and Travel ball tournament championship trophies that could be better used than on display. Adam Lauramore, JCB 7 & 8 Rookies Commissioner, suggested donating the trophies to Pine Castle to assist their programs. Pine Castle staff work with adults who have severe mental and physical developmental challenges to teach everyday life skills. Some of the trophies will be used for Special Olympics and the remainder are used as workstations for the men and women to take apart and put together again in order to build developmental skills. The staff was very thankful for JCB and all involved.
Pine Castle Story: As was one of the first organizations in Florida to serve children with special needs, Pine Castle helped pioneer the philosophy that individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities have the right to live full and productive lives.
